LUDINGTON – The Ludington and Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominations for the annual Business of the Year awards.
Nominations include Nautical Yarn and BookMark, Synergy Broadcasting and West Shore Bank. Nominations are made by the public in a letter of recommendation. The recipient will be announced at the May 11 chamber dinner at Lincoln Hills Golf Club.
- Nautical Yarn Shop and Book Mark. The Ludington businesses, owned by Bob and Carol Kosanovich, were nominated by Lynne Russell, executive director of United Way of Mason County. Russell described Nautical Yarn as a “unique retail store” and said the book mark provides a sense of community, creating an atmosphere for friends to spend together.
- Synergy Energy. Ludington business woman Sally Tushek nominated the business, which owns several radio stations in the area. Tushek described the business’ growth over the last year as one of the main reasons she made the nomination.
- West Shore Bank. The bank, which has branches in Ludington, Scottville, Manistee, Hart, Fountain and Walkerville, was nominated by Dr. Rick Plummer of West Shore Community College. Plummer sited West Shore Bank’s commitment to remaining locally owned and to making a difference in the community.
