Great Start Collaborative to host parent info nights

The Mason and Oceana County Great Start Parent Coalitions will host two Parent Info Nights this month.

The first will be held on Monday, April 22nd from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. at Pentwater Elementary School and will feature guest speaker Karen Goodman of West Michigan Community Mental Health with a presentation entitled “Positive Parenting Techniques for Behavioral Change.”

The second is scheduled for Monday, April 29th from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church on Bryant Road in Pere Marquette Township and will feature guest speaker Lisa Cooper of the Great Start to Quality Western Resource Center with a presentation called “How is my child doing?: Using the Ages & Stages Questionnaire to Keep Track of Your Child’s Development.”

The Info Nights are open to parents of children ages 0-12 in Mason, Lake and Oceana counties and there is no charge for the event. Childcare and dinner will be provided. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

The Great Start Parent Coalitions are part of the Mason-Lake-Oceana Great Start Collaborative which works to assure a coordinated system of community resources and support to help all families in the tri-county area provide a great start for their children from pre-birth to age five.
