LUDINGTON – The following sentencings took place this week in 51st Circuit Court.
– William Geoffrey Buchanan, 23, was sentenced April 2 for the Feb. 13 conviction of child abuse third degree. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail, serving 6 months up front and balance at court’s discretion; 24 months probation; $498 fines/costs. Two other counts – child abuse third degree and habitual offender, third offense – were dismissed. Buchanan also served a jail terms for a 2009 conviction of controlled substance possession. He was sentenced on April 2 for a probation violation in relation to the previous conviction.
– Georgia Rae Makowicki, 52, 105 Fourth St., Apt. 1, Ludington, was sentenced April 2 for the Feb. 13 conviction of malicious destruction of fire/police property. She was sentenced to 180 days jail, serving 60 days up front with balance at court’s discretion; 12 months probation; $565.44 in fines/costs.
– Eric John Langejans, 3264 Piney Ridge Rd., Ludington, was sentenced April 2 for a Feb. 14 guilty conviction of possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, authorized to be released to seek work, serving 30 days up front and balance at court’s discretion; 18 months probation; $498 fines/costs.
– Ethan Thomas Moody, 18, 1857 Kennedy Blvd., Ludington, was sentenced April 2 for the Feb. 8 conviction of controlled substance delivery/manufacturing. Sentence: 180 days jail, serving 90 days up front and balance at court’s discretion; work release; 24 months probation; $498 fines/costs.
– Tony Alan Lanning, 32, 5219 N. Royce Rd., St. Louis, Mich., was sentenced April 2 for a probation violation stemming from a Feb. 14, 2006 conviction of breaking and entering. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail and ordered to pay $1,692.54 in fines/costs. He must also serve 120 days with a tether upon release from jail. Two other counts of the same offense were dismissed.
