LUDINGTON — Travis Malone, 209 N. Rath Ave., the second suspect in the Court Street arson case, was arraigned in 79th District Court late last week. The 17-year-old was charged in connection with an October 17, 2012 arson in which the house at the intersection of Court and William streets was destroyed by fire.
Malone was charged with arson of a dwelling and being a habitual offender, second offense. His bail was set at $50,000 cash.
In November Malone plead guilty in Oceana County for his connection in the Oct. 21, 2012 Wishing Well convenience store breaking and entering.
Earlier this year, Marshall Jennings Brault, 19, 606 N. Gaylord Ave., was arraigned in Mason County on arson charges. He and Malone allegedly committed both the arson and the breaking and entering. Brault was also charged in Oceana County for breaking and entering of the Wishing Well. His bail in Mason County was also set at $50,000.
Malone is scheduled for a preliminary examination in District Court on March 27 at 11:15 a.m.
