LUDINGTON — The following proceedings took place this week in 79th District Court.
– Bily-Jim Fredrick Jobbins, 25, 1310 S. Madison St., Ludington, was found guilty on March 25 for allowing a person to drive in violation and was ordered to pay $335 in fines/costs.
– Kaleena Ray Stepka, 21, 3947 S. Stiles Rd., Riverton Twp., was found guilty on March 25, for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months probation; $285 fines/costs.
– Samantha Jo Kleinsorge, 21, 5047 Clearwater St., Muskegon, was found guilty on March 25 for allowing a person to drive in violation and was ordered to pay $335 in fines/costs.
– Barbara Jean Sprague, 20, 5047 Clearwater St., Muskegon, was found guilty on March 25 for allowing a person to drive in violation and was ordered to pay $335 in fines/costs.
– Marcus Bryant Gipson, 25, 1608 St. Joseph St., Lansing, was found guilty on March 26 for attempted assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer, operating a vehicle while intoxicated second offense. Sentence: 32 days in jail; one year discretionary jail for two years; must report to jail on July 1 unless completed Impact Weekend; subject to random PBT’s by police; $1,925 fines/costs. A charge of driving while license suspended was dismissed.
– Christopher Scott Henry, 31, 11802 U.S. 27, Dewitt, was found guilty on March 26 for operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor. Sentence: Two days jail; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; $1,145 fines/costs.
– Sidney Russell Austin, 29, 3190 N. Schoenherr Rd., Custer, was found guilty on March 26 for reckless use of firearms. Sentence: 10 days jail; 90 days discretionary jail for two years; firearm is forfeited; must not use or possess any firearms for two years; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; subject to random PBT’s by police; outpatient treatment; continue current counseling; $375 fines/costs. He was also found guilty of failure to report an accident and reckless driving. Sentence: 93 days discretionary jail, count 2; 90 days discretionary jail, count 3; $905 fines/costs. Charges of discharging a firearm at a building and operating a vehicle while intoxicated have been dismissed.
– Ali Marie Johnson, 25, 503 N. William St., Apt. B, Ludington, was found guilty on March 26 for embezzlement. Sentence: 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $680 fines/costs.
– Vicki Marie Jones, 25, 2716 S. Lakeshore Dr., Ludington, was found guilty on March 26 for domestic violence. Sentence: 18 days jail; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a Hands-Down evaluation and follow the recommendations within 120 days; may perform 58 hours community service instead of paying fines and costs; must not have contact with victims; $580 fines/costs. Two additional charges of domestic violence was dismissed.
– Joshua Brandt Kjolhekde, 35, 6540 Duneview Dr., Hamlin Twp., was found guilty of operating a vehicle while intoxicated; Sentence: two days jail; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend Impact Weekend; must attend Alcoholics Anonymous two times per week for six months; must not have/buy/use alcohol for one year; subject to random PBTs by police; outpatient treatment; $1,245 fines/costs. Additional charge of operating with blood content of .17 or more was dismissed.
– Daniel John Horowski, 29, 916 W. Ludington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty of retail fraud second degree. Sentence: 10 days jail; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend Economic Crime Program; $740 fines/costs.
– Dustin Michael Jewett, 21, 814 E. Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty on March 26 for driving while license suspended. Sentence: three days jail; one year discretionary jail for two years; may perform community service to pay off half of fines/costs; $580 fines/costs.
– Xaviera Clarice Stockwell, 33, 507 Sixth St., Ludington, was found guilty on March 27 for possession of marijuana. Sentence: two days jail; one year discretionary jail for two years; must surrender driver’s license; must not buy/use/have alcohol/illicit drugs; $580 fines/costs. An additional charge of possession analogues and retail fraud third degree were dismissed.
– Lauri Ann Hurst, 33, 7110 Kansas St., Hamlin Twp., was found guilty on March 27 for assault and battery. Sentence: 30 days jail; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend/complete counseling with Community Mental Health; must not purchase/possess/consume alcohol or illicit drugs; no contact with victim; must attend AA at least three times per week for two years; $1,115 fines/costs.
– Shawn Keith Slimmen, 20, 420 N. Park St., Ludington, was found guilty on March 28 for purchasing alcohol under 21. Sentence: $265 fines/costs.
