HAMLIN TWP. — Seven fire departments were called to fight a fire at 6169 N. Lincoln Rd. Upon arrival, just shortly after 3:15 a.m., firefighters reported the two-story farmhouse was fully engulfed in flames.
Hamlin Twp. Chief Steve Vandervest requested road commission assistance as well, most likely because of icey road conditions. Hamlin and Pere Marquette fire departments were initially called and additional assistance was given by Ludington, Scottville, Grant, Riverton and Custer. The American Red Cross canteen unit was also requested.
According to dispatch information, the occupants of the house were able to get out.
