LUDINGTON, MI – On the heels of a large grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, Ludington Area Arts Council announces that it has additionally been awarded a grant for professional and organizational development support from MCACA, administered by the Holland Area Arts Council, in the amount of $1,500. The minigrant is specifically intended to partially fund costs associated with the LAAC’s board and staff development and strategic planning with the guidance of a consultant.
The current board of the LAAC will see a 50% transition of new board members in 2013. With such drastic change in leadership, it is critical that all members are acting in concert with shared vision and mission. This grant support and guided development will ensure that the organization achieves its goals despite immediate changes in leadership.
Additionally, the LAAC experienced a change of staff leadership in 2012 when Erica Karmeisool Reed replaced Terry Murphy as executive director. More recently, Ann Genson was brought on to manage the LAAC’s facility, the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Both believe the minigrant will help the organization be prepared to effectively and efficiently achieve its goals.
