HAMLIN TWP. — The township board of trustees is expected to take action tonight on installing street lights on North Lincoln Road near Hamlin Lake estates. If approved, lights will be installed at the intersections of Maple, Linden, Sassafras, Victory Drive and Cherry. The cost includes a $100 installation fee and a monthly charge of approximately $12.50 per light to be billed by Consumers Energy.
The board is also expected to vote on renewing participation the the city of Ludington’s recreation program this year at a cost of $12,283. In 2012, there were 657 eligible children in Hamlin Township with 394 participating in recreation programs. Pere Marquette Township contributes $10,000 for 497 eligible children, Summit Township contributes $2,500 for 118 eligible children and Ludington contributes $42,000 for 1,632 eligible children. By Hamlin Township contributing to the program, any child who resides in Hamlin Township only pays $8 for a t-shirt in all non-pay programs.
The township board meets at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.
