Barbara Jean Renwick, age 73, of Scottville, MI., passed away January 4, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. Barbara was born in Pontiac, MI., September 30, 1939 to the late Milo and Beulah (Bolchey) Echlin, one of four children they would have together.
Mrs. Renwick attended Scottville High School where she was involved in choir, gymnastics, and cheerleading. On October 5, 1957, she married Donald Renwick. Together, they would have a charming and unique family consisting of five children. As challenging as being a homemaker was, Barbara embarked on a journey with her husband, venturing into antiques. They eventually came to own an antique dealership in Scottville, “School House Antiques”. Mrs. Renwick would find this to be one of her life’s many passions, operating the store for numerous years with Don. Barbara enjoyed many other hobbies other than just antiques; including dance, music, bowling, fishing, cooking and above all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald; children Linda (Rob) Schell, Rev. Tim (Darla) Renwick, Sherry (Michael) Renwick-Reed, David (Cindy) Renwick, and Darlene (Dave) Vander Beek. Also surviving are two sisters; Joan Dobias and Joyce Stong, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was proceeded in death by one daughter, Viola.
A graveside service will be held in the Fall of 2013 at Sugar Grove Cemetery. The family has entrusted arrangements to Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Please feel free to visit Barbara’s personal memory page at www.oakgrovefh.com.
