A group of local outdoor enthusiasts have formed a chapter of Outdoors Without Limits, which will assist people with disabilities in spending time in nature.
Greg Robison is the chairman of West Michigan Outdoors Without Limits, which was formed on Nov. 27 after it was approved by national CEO and founder Kirk Thomas.
Several volunteers have already committed to being part of the organization.
“We all got involved with this program in an effort to bring a nationally known and respected organization to Michigan,” Robison said. “We provide hunting, fishing, camping and competitive shooting to those with disabilities.
“We also want to include the Make-A-Wish Foundation to fulfill the dreams of young Americans with terminal illnesses.
“If we can bring joy to someone’s life, then we have completed our mission.”
Some of the events the group plans will include organized hunts, charter fishing on Lake Michigan, Bow Fishing, Shooting Competitions (Both Bow and Rifle), fundraisers and possibly a benefit dinner and concert.
