CUSTER TWP. — Thick fog causing low visibility was the cause of a rollover accident on Custer Road south of Hansen Road Tuesday night around 7:30 p.m. Sheriff Jeff Fiers said the 61-year-old driver told him she was only going about 10 mph when she noticed her Chevy Blazer was going into the ditch. She was unable to get back on the road before the vehicle rolled over. She and her dog were unhurt in the accident.
Fiers said he was in the vicinity, heading to the Sherman Township board of trustees meeting when he heard the call come in. He said he could barely navigate through the thick fog himself.
Custer Township Fire Department was called to assist with traffic control. Drivers are urged to use caution as they drive tonight.
