VICTORY TWP. – Registration for winter semester classes that begin Thurs., Jan. 14, at West Shore Community College is open to both returning and new students.
Though the start of winter classes is over a month away, WSCC Director of Enrollment Management Shelby Wagner-Hughes emphasizes the importance of students planning now for the upcoming semester.
“Students who register early for classes have the best selection of courses, as well as day and time offerings available to them,” stated Wagner-Hughes. “Now is also the time to concentrate on the application process for financial aid that can help pay for classes.”
All students seeking financial aid must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, also commonly referred to as FAFSA. Information about the FAFSA can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Those with questions about the financial aid process can contact the WSCC Financial Aid office at (231)843-5917.
This winter, WSCC is offering nearly 350 course sections at its Scottville campus and the Manistee County Education Center near Manistee. Of those, many are offered in the evening.
In addition, there are many online courses and courses offered through the Michigan Community College Virtual Learning Collaborative. These courses allow students to do much of the coursework and lectures at home with limited visits to campus for testing and labs.
Those interested in registering for classes or who have questions about the application and enrollment process at WSCC can contact the Student Services Office at (231) 843- 5946. The winter semester class schedule is available online at www.westshore.edu.
