County appoints deputy emergency manager

LUDINGTON — Chris Jeffries of Scottville has been appointed as the Mason County Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator. Jeffries’ appointment was approved by the board of commissioners during its regular meeting Tuesday morning.
Jeffries is employed as a firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Manistee City Fire Dept. He formerly worked for Life EMS and was an officer on Fountain Area Fire Dept.
“Chris has been a valuable colleague and friend and he has proven himself to be a great asset during both preparedness and response activities,” said Liz Reimink, the county’s emergency management coordinator.
“I am excited to have him volunteering with the emergency management office.”
The position of deputy emergency management coordinator is a volunteer position established to enhance the level of service and sustainability of the Mason County Emergency Management Office.
In his volunteer duties, Jeffries will assist in coordinating all matters pertaining to emergency management, disaster preparedness and recovery assistance within Mason County.
Jeffries is a graduate of Hart High School and West Shore Community College.
