LUDINGTON – Kasey Cole of Ludington was selected as Miss Ludington Area 2013 during Saturday’s pageant at L.F. Peterson Auditorium. She is the daughter of Kim and Gina Cole and a 2012 graduate of Ludington High School.
As Miss Ludington Area, Kasey received a $1,500 Susie Brillhart Memorial Scholarship and one semester paid tuition at West Shore Community College. Cole also received People’s Choice Award.
First Runner Up was Megan Borgeling of Fountain. Megan is the daughter of Kathy and Michael Purple. She is a 2008 graduate of Mason County Eastern High School. As First Runner Up she received a $1,000 scholarship partially sponsored by West Shore Bank. She also won the $500 Talent Scholarship and the $250 Miss Congeniality Scholarship.
The newly established Talent Scholarship is a gift from Staci Palma Collins, Miss Ludington 1978. Staci, who lives in Colorado, attended the event to present the scholarship.
Kasey will now prepare for Miss Michigan Scholarship Pageant to be held in June at the Fraunthal Theatre in Muskegon. Both the Miss Ludington Area Scholarship Pageant and the Miss Michigan Pageant are preliminaries to Miss America.
