Bernard (Bud) E. Jacobs, age 79 of Ludington passed away on November 01, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan in Ludington, MI.
He was born on August 03, 1933 in Muskegon, MI the son of the late Warley & Ola (Black) Jacobs. Bud attended Muskegon Schools and on May 19, 1953 Bernard entered the Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on May 04, 1955.
Bud was employed as a seaman for the C& O Carferry service. He was a member of the Ludington Eagles and in his earlier years he enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Most of all “Bud” as he liked to be called was a people person. He loved to share his jokes and candy with everyone.
Bud is survived by his wife: Rosie Phillips and a twin sister: Bea (Carl) Tobey.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Laverne Wolfcale, Bernice Pluger, Lorraine Veenstra, and his brothers: Eldon and Lewis.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for Bud on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington with Pastor Joe Hilyard officiating. Graveside military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
