LUDINGTON — Two people are officially running to be elected as the next mayor of Ludington. Nominating petitions for elected city positions were due at 4 p.m. today.
Seeking election for the four-year mayor term mayor are William Dustman of George Street and Steve Miller of Court Street.
Other contested positions are:
- Fourth Ward councilor (four year term): Jeff Casperson of Second Street, Kandi Fugere of Third Street, and Cheri Stibitz-Rozell of Sixth Street.
- Fifth Ward councilor (four year term): Wally Cain of Mitchell Street and Angela Serna of Resseguie Street.
- Uncontested candidates are:
- Clerk (four year term): Deborah Luskin (incumbent), of West Tinkham Ave.
- First Ward councilor (two year term): Joseph Lenius (currently serving as an appointed councilor) of Lakeshore Drive.
- Second Ward councilor (four year term): Kathy Winczewski (incumbent) of Rowe Street.
- Sixth Ward councilor (four year term): David Bourgette (currently serving as an appointed councilor) of Ludington Avenue.
Voters will chose two of the three Fourth Ward candidates during the Aug. 7 primary election. Those two winners, along with the other candidates will then be selected during the Nov. 6 General Election.
