GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 65-year-old Free Soil woman was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the corner of US 31 and Free Soil Road Friday afternoon. The crash involved a Dodge Durango, driven by the 65-year-old woman, and a Chevrolet pickup driven by a 57-year-old Wyoming, Mich. man, according to Mason County Sheriff Sgt. Mike Hanson on the scene.
The details of the crash were not immediately available.
The driver of the Durango was initially trap in her vehicle requiring the fire department to use hydraulic equipment to extricate her; she was then transported by Life EMS ambulance to Munson Health Care Manistee Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle did not seek medical attention.
Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Grant Township Fire & Rescue, Free Soil/Meade Fire Department, and Life EMS.
