PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Colton Gregory is the fifth generation in his family to operate a flower business, a tradition that began with his great-grandparents, in the late 1880s, who operated a greenhouse that was located on the present day campus of Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.

The family business moved across Ludington Avenue after the hospital was built and operated there until the 1980s. Seven years ago, Colton’s mother, Shirley Gregory, opened Beads & Blooms at 78 N. Jebavy Dr.

Following Shirley’s death last year, Colton took over the business in November. He says he plans to continue the family tradition of providing high quality flowers and outstanding customer service, including delivery.
