Ludington likely to purchase Tinkham Ave. property for fire station.

May 18, 2015

LUDINGTON — Ludington City Council is expected to take action tonight on a purchase agreement to buy the former Lakeshore Lumber property on East Tinkham Avenue. The property would be used to house the future site of the city’s fire department.

City council, during its regular meeting, is being asked to approve the $102,500 agreement with Ronald and Donna Sanders. Morris Street, LLC would be purchasing the west portion of the property and will share environmental investigation and surveying costs with the city.

A memo from City Manager John Shay states the city could use the property for a fire station once the block housing the current station is redeveloped. The current station is located at the intersection of Loomis and Robert streets.
